Stearyl alcohol, also known as octadecanol, is a long chain saturated fatty alcohol. It appears as white pastilles or flakes. The application of stearyl alcohol is manifold. It acts as a viscosity modifier, emulsifier, emollient, opacifier, foam booster, refatting- and masking agent. Possesses skin conditioning properties.
