Behenyl alcohol, also known as docosanol, is a long chain saturated fatty alcohol. It can be derived from plant oils such as mustard oil or rapeseed oil. Behenyl alcohol appears as white wax or solid at room temperature. It functions as emollient, emulsifier, and viscosity modifier.
