in-cosmetics 2025: A Breakthrough in Sensory Innovation - A Review
At in-cosmetics global 2025 in Amsterdam, Berg+Schmidt proudly presented its latest innovation for the personal care industry: the Texture & Sensory Compass - a digital tool that enables formulators to create sensory-optimized skin care formulations based on targeted textures and skin feel.
A strong start: Sales Network Partner Day
The day before the show, we welcomed our international partners for a special Sales Network Partner Day. Over a relaxed lunch and an insightful presentation, we introduced the concept behind the Texture & Sensory Compass. The evening concluded with a dinner by the Amstel River, where a stunning sunset set the mood for engaging conversations and global collaboration.
Center Stage: Texture & Sensory Compass
The focus at booth 1B61 was clear: transforming subjective sensory preferences into objective formulation decisions. Our Texture & Sensory Compass provides clear guidance for
- Selecting galenic forms such as milk, lotion, cream or butter
- Mapping skin feel from light to rich or fluid to solid
- Identifying appropriate emulsifiers, emollients and rheology modifiers
- Design textures that meet consumer expectations and brand identity
Visitors experienced real-world textures at our Sensory Bar, where sample formulations brought the Compass to life through direct skin feel comparisons.
Kristin Köhler, Head of Care Ingredients:
"in-cosmetics 2025 was a real success. The response to our Texture & Sensory Compass was incredible - you could feel how relevant this tool is to the market. It provides formulators and brand developers with a practical guide to creating the right sensory experience. We're proud to contribute to smarter and more targeted product development."
