This monoester of palmitic acid and isopropyl alcohol is used as a solvent for printing inks. It plays an important role especially in the production of pasty to viscous inks. It contains no volatile solvents and is used in various printing processes (sheet-fed, offset and ceramic). It can also be used in textile auxiliaries or water immiscible metalworking oils and as a release agent in foundries.
