Cetostearyl alcohol is a blend of cetyl and stearyl alcohol. Cetostearyl alcohol is a long chain saturated fatty alcohols and possesses a variety of applications. Cetostearyl alcohol appears waxy at room temperature. It can function as a plasticizer of plastics or as formulation stabilizer in inks as well as additive in lubricants to enhance metal protection or as defoaming agent in detergency.
